December is fast approaching, and La Dragon is getting ready to host you any day of the week. The festive period is the busiest time of the year for us, so we’ve decided to expand our opening times.

Located in the heart of Kilmarnock, La Dragon is a fine dining restaurant serving delicious Chinese cuisine. Upstairs, we have a luxurious Champagne Lounge serving all your favourite wines, a range of crisp beers, and both one-of-a-kind and classic cocktails.

This December, we’re opening every Tuesday so you can all enjoy La Dragon. The Champagne Lounge will be open every day from the 7th of December.

Please note that, as usual, we will be shut on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day to give our staff a well-deserved rest.

If you want to host a private dinner party, you can book out of our Emperor Suite, which accommodates up to 20 people – perfect for special events or corporate dinners.

If you’re looking to impress, celebrate, or simply say thank you thoughtfully, a La Dragon gift voucher is an elegant and foolproof choice. It’s not just a gift — it’s an experience.

Vouchers can be used in our restaurant and Champagne Lounge. Unfortunately, we cannot accept them for takeaway orders. Please make sure you keep your voucher safe, as you will need to present it when paying for your meal and/or drinks. Gift vouchers are presented in a gold envelope and are available from our restaurant. At the moment, we do not offer digital vouchers, and we cannot post vouchers out.

Mamma Mia Ladies' Lunch

In collaboration with the fantastic charity Ayrshire Cancer Support, we are hosting a Mamma Mia-themed Ladies’ Lunch this October. Take your seat at La Dragon ‘Taverna’ in Kilmarnock for a delicious two-course lunch and ABBA sing-along from 12 to 4 pm on Sunday, 5th October 2025.

The event will be hosted by Greg Summers, the enthusiastic and entertaining speaker and presenter, who has worked alongside many celebrities and brands, including Kevin Bridges, Stephen Fry, Coca-Cola, and ASDA. Greg has helped to raise millions of pounds for hundreds of charities. We’re honoured to have him at our Mamma Mia Ladies’ Lunch.

To bring you even more energy and fun, we’re delighted that the professional entertainer, Fiona Young, will be our ABBA tribute singer for the event. Her ABBA repertoire is jam-packed with toe-tapping hits so that we can dance and we can jive together.

If, by 4 pm, you’re still saying ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme more music!”, charity ambassador and contestant from The Voice, Jeremy Levif, will be performing live music upstairs in our Champagne Lounge from 4 to 7 pm. This portion of the day will be free of charge, but we recommend phoning to book your table as we expect it to be busy.

We hope that you will join us for our Mamma Mia Ladies’ Lunch. Ayrshire Cancer Support need to raise £3000 each day to provide life-changing support – such as free transport, counselling services, and therapy – to those impacted by cancer. Around half of all people will experience cancer in their lifetime. The Mamma Mia lunch raises funds through a portion of the ticket price, as well as raffle tickets, a charity auction, and additional donations. Be a super trouper and come along to this event.

The talented chefs at La Dragon have been perfecting four new starters and one delectable dessert to add to the menu from June 6, 2025.

Each dish has been crafted with a refreshing blend of flavours and completely original recipes with only the highest quality ingredients. Available now, visit La Dragon to give them a try.

^ Honey Chilli Chicken

Finally! — that’s what our customers are saying about this being added to the menu. You asked, and we’re happy to add it as a permanent dish. Sticky, spicy, and sweet, indulge in our delicious Honey Chilli Chicken. Tender chicken in batter sautéed in our original honey chilli sauce… Can’t go wrong. (We’ll also serve this as a main dish on request.)

^ Dragon Pang Pang Chicken

Nutty and warming, the Dragon Pang Pang Chicken is set to be a firm favourite. The tender chicken is coated in a unique peanut hot sauce, giving a savoury, spicy flavour.

^ Deep Fried Dumpling (chicken or veg)

The Deep Fried Dumplings, available with chicken or veg, is the perfect way to start your meal. Light, tasty, and crunchy on the outside — thanks to the crispy onions — it has a tang of sweetness from the salad sauce and a burst of savoury flavour from the chicken or veg.

^ Dragon Hot Mayo Chicken

Last starter, but certainly not least, we’re excited to introduce our Dragon Hot Mayo Chicken, served with our new mayo chilli sauce recipe. Creamy and spicy, it’s also got a bright and fresh profile that makes this an utterly unforgettable dish. You can also swap the chicken for king prawns if preferred.

^ Hot Cookie Dough Skillet

We’ve been serving this to some regular customers over the past month to test it out, and it’s been clear we need to add to the menu as a permanent dessert. The warm cookie dough is served in a hot cast iron skillet before being topped with caramel ice cream. This ooey-gooey sweet dessert is a delightful way to round off your meal and goes beautifully alongside a cocktail.

Simon Sims, originally from Kenya now living in Glasgow, has been singing since primary school. In the past few years, he has made his mark busking and dancing with the people of Glasgow.

From 1st of August, La Dragon's Champagne Lounge will be available for you to host your own private event. With two sittings available, you can enjoy a daytime event from noon to 5 pm, or an evening event from 6 pm to closing. The bar will be reserved exclusively for your private use, with an optional buffet available.

Join us for a night of great music and good times.

The Glasgow Piano Man, John Rankin, is a talented pianist and vocalist. He first played at La Dragon in January 2024, and we quickly invited him back. Being a versatile performer, he plays a variety of genres: jazz, R&B, rock, soul, and much more.

Another great thing about John is that he is always happy to take requests from the audience. Whether you want to hear a classic tune or a modern hit, John is always up for a challenge and will do his best to accommodate your request.
